The Housing Choice Voucher Program is government-subsidized rental housing. Due to waiting times for the Housing Choice Voucher Program, applications may not always be available. When applications are available, both individuals and families are eligible. When income and eligibility qualifications for assistance are met, the family is given a voucher for a certain amount of funding based on the family's income. Once the family finds suitable housing outside the Authority's properties and a property owner who agrees to accept the housing voucher, the family is subsidized in that unit as long as the family meets income qualifications and voucher guidelines.
